Henry Washington & Ellen Christina (Wurm) Stout

Ellen Christina Wurm, daughter of John and Christina (Haug) Wurm, was born 26 Oct 1858 in Seneca County, Ohio and died 1 Sept 1939 at Milford, Kosciusko County, Indiana.  She was baptised as Christina Hellena Wurm at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Seneca County, Ohio on 7 Nov 1858.  Sponsors were Daniel McCarthy and Rufina Lehman.  Ellen married Henry Washington Stout 10 Feb 1874 in Seneca County, Ohio.  Henry was born in March 1848 to Henry and Hannah (-) Stout and died in 1916.

"MILFORD, Ind.: Mrs. Ellen Stout, 81, for many years a resident of Milford, died Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ross Timmons, here, after an illness of five months.  She was bedfast five weeks.

The body will remain at the Neff funeral home pending definite arrangements for the funeral, delayed by the absence of the two sons, who are on a trip to the West.  They are Charles Stout of Elkhart and Alva Stout of Plymouth.  Other surviving children are the Rev. John Stout of Milford, Otto Stout of Nappanee and Mrs. Mary Hubler of Detroit.  There are 26 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, a brother, Otto C. Wurm, and two half brothers.

The deceased, who was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Wurm, was born Oct 26, 1858, in Ohio.  Her marriage to Washington Stout took place Jan 8, 1877.  He died 21 years ago.

Mrs. Stout was a member of the Church of the Brethren."
